Isn't it always the last place you look? I didn't even think to look in the SPARE BEDROOM!!
Sunday when he was digging one of his tunnels my friend said "oh look he is trying to get the hell out and dig his way to a chinese tank" he being chinese, also said he had an uncle in China that had a SW tank that could give him a good home. Turns out I guess he was half right! I guess he hit the bottom and then decided the best way to go is the way he came in. There is a small space between my not-working-skimmer and a filter. Sometime between Sunday and Monday he planned his escape, I suspect he had an accomplice. Maybe a hermit crab, introduced later, had tattoo's of my tank layout on the inside of his shell. My Solar Wrasse (who I would have expected it from him) was on night watch, must have given him some of his mucus membrane he uses to sleep as a self contained out of water breathing apparatus. He saw that the coast was clear and made his leap. Once on the carpet he crawled across the livingroom up the stairs and into the spare bedroom where I keep my parrot. I also suspect that he tried to coax the bird into flying him to the nearest ocean. The deal was free the bird and they'll make a break for the coast. They can lay low looking like a married couple from Iowa visiting a seagull in the Florida Keys. Well something went wrong while the Goby was climbing the bars. He must have slipped and fell and broke into four or five dried chewed up pieces.
Either that the one of the cats found him on the carpet by the tank and ate him upstairs. THE WORLD MAY NEVER KNOW!!
