found mandarin dead on floor

How long has he been out? or did u dispose of him already?
i was reading a thread where people have had luck with fish jumping, not being noticed for hrs, but then placed back in the tank and coming back... worth a shot

Were they lungfish?

You should assume that all fish jump. In the case of a mandarin, it is possible it was being harassed. What else is in the tank?

my friend had his jump as well. i couldnt believe it when i heard it from him but i then read of other people who had the same thing happen to theres. after having alot of fish jump in the past i now keep a lid on my tank no matter what fish i am keeping. i think that all fish should be considered jumpers. i have heard of many different fish jumping that i never would have thought would jump.

I have a lid on now.I't happened sometime after the lights went out.The tank is in the basement so I would think it's pretty dark for any harrasing but that's probably what happened.

I have had a mandarin jump. Also had a tang in the tank. I actually had a couple fish jump. Removed the skiddish tang and problem solved.

I had mine in a tank all by himself and found him on the floor when I woke up in the morning. No chance for him though, was hard as a rock.
