found new lights i want to get next

lps and mostly softies, not trying sps until later on when i can invest in a calc reactor and build a sump and stand that can house a sump i got one of those stands will a bunch of cabinet drawers. So basically have a remora pro skimmer with rio/2500, and a prizm pro i got real cheap and a hang fuge full of pods and chaeto and mangroves. I dose for calcium with seachem reef complete, pickling lime for clams and corraline algae but don't really have anything that uses up much calcium. Sps won't live in tank tried it, everything else does great, have 2 crocea's, maxima, squamosa, and deresa clams doin great all are small.

got a 29 gallon with 156 watts of t5 nova xtreme, prizm hang on skimmer, and frags i get out of my 125. Just got a 24 gallon nano cube for free from a good friend that i'm gonna put only mushrooms, and ricordea's in cause i love shrooms. 125 has shrooms alot of different leathers love leathers also, like corals that sway around.

The clams will need excellent lighting, the Phoenix bulb has great par in a 14K. I didn't like it as I thought it was a washed out blue look. I am still happy with the XDE's and the color is good too. You will probably like the phoenix 14k's but I have never seen them in the 150 watt version face to face. I know the 250's are kind of overpowering with the washed out look.

I like my 150w 14k phoenix bulbs. Chad Farmer also has them and I believe he likes his as well. I hate a blue look, but these aren't too blue IMO.

They don't advertise for killers in the newspaper. That was my profession. Ex-cop. Ex-blade runner. Ex-killer.

One of the best lines ever! I think it is one of the best SciFi films ever done-not as far as special effects-but on content/story alone! As far as effects it was way ahead of its time.

You must have seen the original, as it has Deckers thoughts in the movie. The directors cut does not??

I still have the Criterion Cut on LaserDisc as well as the other copy. I wish I could figure how to download the Criterion cut to my computer and then burn a DVD. The ending is a bit different from the original.

Good luck on the lighting choice! Are you still interested in the Lumenarc Minis?

I'm going to way in on this one. Keep in mind these are JMHO from my trials and error's.

Jack is correct about the heat issue. A watt is a watt. I've had MH and now have T5's. They are two totally different types of lights. My T5's do get hot and do heat up my fish room, just like my MH did. I have 8-80w T5's compared to the 2-250 MH's that I had. I switch for 2 reasons:

In hope's to save on my power bill as T5's don't pull as much. Not saying they don't use there fair share, But how many MH's would I need to get what I have out of these T5's??

Second reason is that the light from the sun is not 10k, 14k, 20, 65k and so on. It's not just one of these Kelvin, It's all of them and more. With MH's I'd be force with maybe 3 different bulbs and then have to supplement with something else. VHO's or something. I have 8 bulbs of T5, I can have 8 different specs if I chose to. I would love to place 2 MH's on my tank with the T5's just to get the shimmering effect back and to see how it looks.

IJMHO that my corals are growing faster with the new T5's than with the MH's. However I haven't been running the T5's full on everyday. I shut them down for 2 days and then run them for only 6 hours the rest of the week. If not there trying to bleach out my corals. But I've watch my Frogspawn go from a Golfball to larger than a softball in about 2-3 weeks time, as well as my Monti cup's booming in grow and shoorms and even my 2 clams. Everything in my tank is growing. It all grew with MH's too, but not quite as fast. I like both sources of light.

Stupid.

P.S. Derrick, anytime you want to stop by and see the light's you know your more than welcome.

All I know is 390w overdriven to ~600w of T5 on IC 660's in SLR's are brighter than my 2x400w halides in LumenMax2's were and I have had some burnt tips on some acros.

So not only did I go from 800w down to 600w saving elec. and heat, but I got more useable light and in many different spectrums....so I'm thrilled.

Quality of lamps, ballasts, reflectors and active cooling are 'very' important when it comes to T5.
