Found something in Freshwater tank!

I've been having electrical problems with my plugs out of power for some reason and it happens to run on my tank lines so I've been running cords everywhere for my tanks. I had the power shut off checking out the plug in behind my freshwater tank and turned it back on and the filter wasn't pumping and was making that sound that tells you to fill up water in the filter. So I took the filter cover off, I found Java Moss growing inside of my filter. We never put a real freshwater aquarium plant in this tank before so it was interesting to find this plant growing inside the filter. I have no idea how it got there???? I thought maybe when I bought fish from critter before, maybe I dump their water in my tank that brought spores, but I NEVER put any of their water in my tank. I usually just catch the fish and release back into my tank. Anyone know how it got there????

I was talking to your fish the other night and they seem to think that one of your algae eaters has been acting very funny lately. I think it was him!

I'm just messin'... but I'm pretty sure any of our guesses would be as good as your hypothesis above.
