Fowlr tank for the store

OK, so you know you have an addiction when you bring your hobby to your work. I bought a building in the town where I live, where I am going to sell antiques. I had a couple stipulations and one was to have an aquarium in the store. I have a 120 reef at home and while it would be nice to have a reef here at the store i felt that adding two reefs systems would not be a smart financial decision. Now is where i play fire; the tank is going to be a Finding Nemo, Finding Dory themed tank, And before everyone jumps my case and the Tang Police come busting down my doors I want to say im doing this as an educational tool. All the fish will be quarantined for at least two weeks, and the Blue tang would be added last.
So now about the tank, its an old 150 gallon tank and had no overflows the sump is a precision marine sump (not sure the volume it holds) it came off a 180 gallon system. The skimmer is ify to me and i may end up buying a new one. my lighting is going to be a 60" ATI sun fixture. I bought a synergy over flow and installed it a couple of days ago. The plan now is to finish framing the wall around the tank and have it filled and running before the weekend is over.
Ill put a couple pictures to show the progress.

Really? i have always been told two, whats the thought behind six weeks. im not opposed to this just curious.

Other than the word "quarantine" being based on the number forty? Well, it can take that long for any hidden parasites to show. It can take that long for any prophylactic treatment to work. It can take that long for any bugs that enter in egg form to hatch and make themselves known.

Commercial and large aquarium rigs quarantine for up to six months. Take a hint from the pros.

You definitely need to cycle your tank for denitrification bacteria. After that treating fish for disease would be prudent. Cu in q tank. I wouldn't add cu to display. Do while tank is cycling. Appr 1.5 mo minimum. You can acid wash lr.

Cycling the tank was never a question, i have alway cycled all my tanks at least a month before adding any kind of live stock. The qt tank is a new concept for me, at home i just dont have the room, and its never really been a problem because my lfs are usually good about qting their fish before selling. however i have moved away from all my lfs's and have to order online. which is why the qt tank is going into this build. Ill definitely quarantine for six weeks to allow the meds to do their job, however I wont be able to do many fish at a time. the qt tank is only a 40 breeder, who guys think its ok to qt all the smaller fish together, like clowns, wrasse, and such? i figure for the bigger like the tangs i will need to do separately, but how would combat any aggression in the display as i wont be able to add them all at once? I appreciate all the advice especially since this can a hot button topic with the blue tangs.

Put the mildest mannered fish in first, most aggressive last. Or avoid aggressive fish altogether (your choice, of course). For something as small as a 150 you won't be putting all that many fish in there anyway.

I have been contemplating my stock list and apart from clowns, a blue tang, yellow tang, royal gramma basslet, im not sure where to go. I was going to have a puffer but having a blue tang is pushing it as it is. Any thoughts as to what would go well with the stock list i would like? I want people to be captivated by the tank.

I would pay attention to clean-up crew. In addition to conchs and nassarius snails to keep the gravel clean, fish like the diamond watchman goby are very entertaining as they literally chow down on mouthfuls of gravel.

Well I got the tank framed in and the walls up and sheetrocked. Im curently in the prossce of mudding (something i really hate doing). Im hoping by tomorrow ill have the walls completely done. Im going to run to the hardware store today to pick up the rest of the plumbing and ill fill the tank to leak test the overflow.

I hope you have planned for a fan and duct system to get the humidity out of your fishroom and tank cabinet and vent them to the outdoors.

The tank is finally done filled and cycling, in about a month Im hoping to add the first fish. <a href="http://s270.photobucket.com/user/jakruse47/media/13615294_1734444146824618_4236182503204935890_n_zpskbwxozho.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj82/jakruse47/13615294_1734444146824618_4236182503204935890_n_zpskbwxozho.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 13615294_1734444146824618_4236182503204935890_n_zpskbwxozho.jpg"/></a><a href="http://s270.photobucket.com/user/jakruse47/media/IMG_1304_zpsvocvfnsq.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj82/jakruse47/IMG_1304_zpsvocvfnsq.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_1304_zpsvocvfnsq.jpg"/></a>

That is so cool. I hope you don't mind but I'm totally going to copy this. That rockwork under the tank is perfect
