Foxies are an unpredictable sort---they can go for years as good citizens, then decide green hammer looks edible. Or suddenly reach a size max and start killing off their tankmates. I don't think I'd put two even into a 180 long. It may just be territoriality...any like fish can do that; but these guys are armed.

Have you try rearranging the rock so there is no home in the tank
Have you considered not asking advice from folks that profit by your taking it? Multiple fox faces are not considered compatible.

No they were not trying to be profitable. This is a very reputable store. They could have easily tried to sell me something more expensive but advised against it when I let them know what else was in my tank. They had like 10 in a 55 gallon tank at the store. I like the personality of the first one so wanted to consider a second one.

Isn't reef central a for profit business as opposed to a non profit organization? Please correct me if I'm wrong. By your logic we should be very suspicious of any advice given by any sponsors or reef central moderators/staff.
There is a ton of bad advice to be had in subpar LFSs, but there are good ones too. Just like there is a ton of bad advice on forums along with some good advice.

Agreed and we all know that everyone can say that "ALL" X type of fish will NEVER eat coral but just like people that are jerks there are fish that are jerks too...so maybe in the majority of cases under certain circumstances fill X will not eat coral but there are a few out there that ruin it for the rest of fish X.

Not the same. Posters on here aren't employees making money on you buying products or livestock they recommend. Vendor forums not withstanding. This is more like other shoppers at the lfs giving you advice

That's not what I was saying. If you read what I said it was questioning advice of sponsors, moderators/staff based on the previous blanket statement made about not taking advice from someone selling you something. But I'd also take posters' (and fellow LFS shoppers') advice all with a grain of salt until I know otherwise about that individual's advice regardless whether they have commercial ties or not.

We do not allow posters with commercial ties to advocate for any product or service. None of the moderators or staff have commercial ties to any product or service. Posters who are sponsors are marked as such. As for credibility, each person will have to judge based on the posting history and type of advice/answers provided. No one here is selling anything.

You were misinformed regardless of the motivation behind it (be it ignorance or profit). It's not very likely that they will get along. Also, a rabbit fish of any type will be risky seeing that you already have an established foxface in the tank already.
If this fish store is as reputable as you say, they'll happily exchange the foxface for another fish.

FYI Triad Reef Critters in Greensboro, NC. They said they usually do fine together. They have several tanks with many but they were all introduced at the same time would be my guess. Anyway, they will refund the fish cost and if I can catch it alive then bring it back if I can find the dead fish bring it back as well. Makes sense...they don't want me to just be a shady customer and give it away and say it died.

mine is a huge eater....keep them fed and maybe you will have continued success...... in a restaurant near me, with a 12 foot tank, they have a few that are fighting every time i go in, but it is a dim lit FO with no algae; filled with tangs and other algae eaters...i guess competition for food is fierce?
