Anyone have an secrets on how to get a foxface to stop hiding? He has been in our tank for almost a week and he doesn't really come out of his hiding spot very often.

Just time. I have a rabbitfish (siganus doliatus) that I thought was going to die in QT of fright. Now she's very personable and will eat right out of my hand. Do you have other fish in the tank?

There is a yellow tang that he follows around sometimes, 2 true percs, and a lawnmower blenny.

I just added a YT a week and a half ago, and the YT keeps trying to beat the crap out of my rabbit. The YT is going back to the store this weekend. My rabbit has suffered (and is healing well) an eye injury from being "tanged". The YT is fine and then just goes berserk on her. This causes my rabbit to hide, she's so docile and peaceful. I adore my rabbit, so yellow has to go.

A big worry I have with him is that, we had hair algae in the tank when we got him and now that it is all gone, I haven't seen him eat anything. There has been a seaweed clip hanging on the glass for 2 days and I haven't seen him eat any of it. Today he looked like he wanted too, he could come out of his hole a little ways then change his mind and go back in.

Mine is still a little skittish if I approach the tank too fast. I've had him for over 2 years now. He eats just about anything. I'm surprised he doesn't eat the seaweed tho. Have you tried any spirulina enriched frozen food? I buy emerald entree, and spirulina enriched brine.

Mine goes absolutely bonkers for mysis. Is he in fright colors, or just hiding? Has he eaten off the clip before? I had to "train" mine to take it.

He is in fright colors when he is hiding. I have seen him eat some flakes before but they have to float right by his face. I don't think he has ever eaten from the clip before. I haven't tried any frozen food, maybe I will try some today.

Yeah, these fish are pretty skittish. I've had mine for about a year now and he still freaks out at the slightest movement. I think yours will eventually calm down, at least to the point that he comes out during feeding and will eat from the clip. If your really worried, you might want to transfer him to a QT tank where you can monitor him more closely and he can't hide from his food.
