Foxface rabbitfish

I have a 22 gal Nano cube reef tank. It is running about 6 weeks and all water tests are OK. I just bought a Foxface and was told to put a piece of lettuce in the tank for it to feed on. The guy at the fish store also said it was safe to put a Zenia in the tank. Will the fish eat any store bought fish food? After doing some research I am afraid it will eat the Zenia. Any suggestions?

Yea, It will get too big for that tank. Also, be carefull with open brains and elegance corals. My foxface ate mine. BTW, I feed mine spectrum pellets and an occasional sprig of greens from my fuge.

Mine loves to rip at Nori. You can buy the packages of the dried Nori sheets from an Asian grocery store for less than $2.

He pulls it right out of the little suction cup clips. The best method is to take a Nori sheet and roll it up tight and then rubber band it to a small piece of rock. Then he can pick and pull at it all day.

I almost wish mine would eat xenia, but he ignores it completely.

I am new to this so I will have to get some nori. Can that be left in the water or do I have to remove it at some point? What about romaine lettuce till I get to the Chinese food store?

Something else, the protein skimmer is really loud and is in the TV room. The LFS said I could run it and the lighting for about 12 hours day and that would be OK. What do you guys think?

I have never used lettuce. I have also heard people use broccoli.

I just put small rolls (start with a 2x3in sheet) in the morning and by evening it is all gone. I would not leave any longer than the day if it is not eaten. Other fish and crabs enjoy it too.

Thanks you have been a great help. I just hope the Foxface does not grow to fast or I will be looking for a larger tank!!
