Foxface with stringy stuff on mouth

So i just noticed this tonight so it could be nothing, but my 1 spot foxface had an unusually along and stringy poo (like equal to his body length) , and now has a couple little white strands coming from his mouth. He seems to be not quite as active, but it could just be that the lights are dimming down. I feed once a day, only what they can eat in 5 mins or so. Am I getting nervous about nothing? Or is there something I should be looking into?

The white stuff on his mouth is now gone... But he seems more pale than normal, and isn't moving a ton... Hmmm.. Probably just Gotta give him a day and reevaluate

Thanks vince. I don't really see anything that matches it, but he's pretty pale and more listless than usual this morning.
The weird thing, is that this is my 2nd foxface to not make it to a month (it's a new tank I'm stocking), while all the other fish seem fine. Odd.

My 3rd Foxface was the charm. I didn't have good luck with them in QT either.

Foxface will take on a pale color when they are stressed or aggravated. It's perfectly normal for them to do this. Not sure about your other issue though with the mouth.

Thanks everyone. He was normal again today, I gave him a strip of noori and he went to town on it. I was away this past weekend and a friend watched the tank. One of the lights stayed on all weekend and my friend figured it wasn't a big deal and didn't tell me. Since then he's not enjoyed the blue evening light. I also changed it so the blue lights stay on from 9 to midnight (an hour longer than they used to), hopefully 7 hours is enough total dark? Anyway, he seems to be good again. Thanks!
