Frag Auction this Month. 31st

Two different worlds buddy. Great meeting last month, we enjoyed it. Your planning, pictures, and info ahead of time is why some of us made the drive to Tampa to see your impressive setup.

Setup was OK......

Joking aside..... quit chattering about making the trip and come on up Roger!!! Thank you again to you and your wife for opening your home to everyone. It was a good time with good people.

Bring a few folks with you and build some out of town relationships. Don't let club politics or lack of a build thread keep you from visiting. Come to meet people. The host family are great people and the setup is pretty impressive.

My 2 cents..... we focus too much on "THE CLUBS" and not enough on the relationships. ITs about people with a common interest getting together and geeking out about a shared hobby.

ITS REEF TAKNKS!!! FFS! I think we loose perspective some times and forget to keep it fun! Loosen up people. Real life is frustrating enough, we should keep our hobbies enjoyable.

I was the President of ORCA last year and am again this year. For the 2 years before that I was the Secretary. I have never had anyone discuss this topic with me. I do believe that I am approachable and would be willing to share your thoughts to the Board of Directors.

As Roger has already said "this is text", so I also do not want to come across as rude. Therefore, I will not discuss this in a forum. Our BOD meetings are open and they are announced on the ORCA website. Feel free to come and share your thoughts; although, I do feel as though it is more effective when the topic has been discussed previously. We have limited time and need to cover everything on the agenda.

Being that I live in Lakeland I am a member of both TBRC and ORCA. I'm not sure if the frag sales split has anything to do with it but I can say that one of the best perks for being an ORCA member is multiple LFS offer discounts to ORCA members. If I'm not mistaken, Top Shelf, for example gives ORCA members a 20% discount on live items. That's huge and in one purchase you've already made your membership fee back plus some. I have not found a Tampa LFS that does this for TBRC members. Something to think about but either way, you should definitely come and participation in the frag auction or not, the club would benefit from your attendance simply from the wealth of knowledge you bring. Hope to see you there.

Richard had a big tank full of it, but next to it, a beautiful tank full of beautiful colonies, awesome tank.
For those of you who couldn't make to the meeting it, there were lots of corals and at a very good price too.

Also during the meeting we talked about changing the split, there was a motion which passed, starting with next frag meeting, in June, ORCA will have a different split 75% and 25% for ORCA.
