Reefing On My Mind
Team RC
So yeah... I'm wicked lazy and don't want to make my own and wait for them to cure... So I figured I'd buy some from Boston Aqua Farms... Was wondering if anyone else wanted in... They have some other supplies and whatnot... Check it out... I'd like to order before the next meeting... LMK

http://www.bostonaquafarms.com/default.aspx

I'll take two bags of disks...100 disks total. If we need to make a quantity discount, I could always take one more bag. Thanks Randy...I can't friggin' cure my plugs I made because we always use that toilet stuff in the toilets and I'm too lazy to figure out another way.

This is a relatively cheap alternative that means less work for me! Yah!

You mean that blue stuff is bad for frag disks??? Who would have thought??? :( I guess I just figured you got happy with the food coloring... ;)

Just waiting to see if anyone else is ordering... If not I might get it from somewhere else... Will be about the same price though... ;) People have through this weekend to jump on it...

I do :p I just can't justify paying for them when I have white portland and arragonite in the garage:rolleyes:

You could make them up for the whole club... :D lol Really I just hate the curing time... How do you cure yours??? Toilet bowl method??? LMAO I love that I can say that and be serious... Wish I came up with it, so it could be known as the Outhouse Toilet Bowl method... :lolspin:

Ok folks!!!!!! Who's the damn PR person that works for his ETRC members????? lol Here's the e mail I just got from Jon at Boston Aqua Farms:

Hi,
Normally we offer free ground shipping and our normal quantity discounts to
club group buys. How about an additional 10% off of the total order on top
of that and I will throw in a small freebie for each member that orders.

Our current complete price list is below, and obviously you can ignore the
shipping info.

Thanks
Jon

How do you cure yours?

I put them in a 5 gallon buckett with fresh water and a powerhead and change the water out every few days for a month or so. You don't have to cure them real well if you are only going to add a few to the tank at a time.

Chris

Yup... Definately too lazy to do it that way... ;) That and when I frag... Usually sit down and frag everything I can... So that would be a large amount of uncured discs in my tank... lol :D

It's not that hard....put them all in a bucket on the porch, put the garden hose in the bucket, turn on the hose for a couple of minutes every few days, remove hose from bucket between flushes (optional).
You can allways put them in the toilet too Randy:p
I'll be happy to do a frag plug making demo during a meeting this summer. We could all pitch in on a bag of arragonite and make a big batch of plugs. I think last time I made some it took me about an hour to make 150 or so....including setup and cleanup.

Chris

Actually Chris we did that last summer, but we just made disks...same basic process. Not that we couldn't do it again!

I agree with Randy...I just want convenience (despite the fact that I've got the stuff in my garage too). Just give them to me ready made!

I would also take a couple of other things on that list too Randy.

I think we did one at the July or August meeting last year at Mel's...

How many of you guys have actually made any since then???

You put your uncured frag discs in the back of your toilet... This way every time you flush, the water is changed so it fully cures... :)
