Frag Fest Auction Items Post them here!!!

This thread is intended to post pictures and items that you will be bringing to the October Frag Fest.

Some brief guidelines:

Cash only event.

Any aquarium related items may be brought to the event, not just livestock. Need to get rid of some used equipment, sitting on a shelf? Bring it here.

Be sure to list item and a starting bid price.

There are no quantity limits to what you may bring.

Each seller will auction their own item by showing it and breifly describing it.

Itmes can be brought on the day of auction with announcing it here in this thread. This thread is intended to give a preview of the items that will be brought to event.

Each buyer and/or seller will be assigned a number when they arrive.

All auctioned items will be tallied by computer and totals will be added up. Buyers and sellers only need to pay or collect money once, at the end of the auction.

This is an informal event. These are basic guidelines of how previous auctions have been run and what seemed to work. If you have any comments or wish to change something, please express it here. The more input, the better this event will be for everyone who attends.

I will have about 20 pieces of Red Sea, but I need to know who wants some so I can bring it from the house.
About 10 pieces of Elongata also this varitey has a yellowish/greenish hue when placed high in the tank.

I am also thinking of listing a piece of the Cespitularia I will post pics soon, do you all think it should go to auction or a straight sale. This piece is selling on-line for over $100 if you can find someone selling it.

I am also thinking of Fragging a large Toad Stool Leather (sarcophyton), Cream with white polyps. If the majority wants I can frag it as a demonstration and then sell the frags - Or I can frag it now and it should attach by the swap and be ready to go home with someone.

Here is the piece up for auction it is a single stalk of the ultra rare Cespitularia (blue xenia) it is the one that is circled starting price will be $100. Pic does not do it justice as the glare from the door behind me kinda washed it out.

The other pieces in the pic will be sold outright, unless there is a trade I am looking for.

Ok, here is a sample of the frags I will be bringing to the Frag Fest. Not all these are coming, but about a dozen, maybe more if they are ready, or I get frag happy. All auctions begin at $5

I describe the size of zoanthid centers, not including skirt as the size of an Eraser Head (EH). So a Sm EH would indicate that a zoa polyp has the center size that is equivalent to a small eraser head. I also use nickel and dime to describe much larger polyp centers.

are you bring any of the Monti Danae listed in the Prop thread?

I will have a yellowish/tan with purple polyps and a small frag of Poker Star for montis.

I also have some really nice pink palythoa that I will be fragging into about 5 polyp groups, and alot of other zoas that I don't know the names of.

I will try and get pics up later today.

Hey Scott, I have some sps (superman and monticap) that are doing fine, you don't think my T5's will keep that coral alive?

T5s are powerful. If you have enough bulbs and the corals are kept up high they work just fine.

However, they may loose color due to the change in lighting, but that could happen with any tank change.

I will bring a piece.

All that I have fragged are zoos and 1 type of paly. I don't know the names of them all, but I have 2 frags of my PPE's, 2 of my pinks, some greens, blue/browns, and some fire and ice. The paly's are red. I will post some pics tomorrow. I'm also going to print some pictures of the frags so that people can see exactly what they are getting at the swap.

O.K. here are some of pics of the corals for the swap. I am going to sell them outright and if there is more interest than what I have they will go to auction. If you would like to reserve one please let me know.
first is a superman, should have 3 pieces about 1.5x1.5

next is a small Poker Star monti about the size of a nickle 2 pieces

last for the monty's is this very bright tan/yellow with bright blue polyps. I should be able to get about 6 piecs 1.5x1.5.

I will get pics of the Pink Palythoas in a few, most have 6 to 10 polyps.

I don't have anything really in the way of swappable frags. My tank and me are in the middle of a stare-down and it is not pretty. I do have some equip however, if anyone is interested. I have 2 brand new 48" VHO bulbs. I have somewhere in betwee 2 and 4 sets of waterproof T12 endcaps. Nu-clear & ocean clear cannister filters. I am looking to do some buying however, so if you have an idea on pricing of things let me know.

I've got a 55 gallon corner with all pumps that's looking for a new home since I upgraded to a larger tank. I'll just bring pictures and details to the swap and if anyone is interested they can pick it up later or I can deliver it if needed.

Scott....Don't know what you have left from Phx. But, I am interested in the creme starburst, nana tri-color, and as to the montipora, I am afraid to hear what the frags went for in Phx. Not sure what I can come up with down here is enough to make it worth your while.
Az definitely have some intrerest in your ?superman frags. See you tomorrow, 1 oclock.

Phil, I'm not sure if I will have time to frag more cremes, but I will try. I will bring some of the others. I took 3 pieces of the Montipora. They sold for $55, $55 and $35.

There were 150+ items on the menu and you cpuld sense that people were low on cash by the end. I bought a vlue chalice frag from chris for $6. Last event it sold for $40 or so. Oh, and my blue tort sold for $15. Thanks alot Ed, everyone has that thanks to you . . . hehehe!@!@!! Robert even warned me that it would not get much interest. He was right.

I will have some nana too. I think all my items will just go to auction. I never know what to charge and feel bad for overpricing, so the market can decide the value of each item. It's just easier that way for me.

I may need a volunteer to help run the computer program.
