Frag order

All my frags opened up and the colors are awsome. Overall I am very pleased and will be buying from midwest frags again in the future.

yea mine look good when i opened my blinds early like 6 am after 15 min they opened up look great thx's again jeff for doing this like we said yeaterday in a month we can do another order again. bobby yours you gave me are open to thx's again... boyeaaaa my celtics wooped up on King James and the cav's ..... Rondo is the man ....Later see you all at the meeting..

I put mine in last nite, and honestly I was shocked at the thread algae. It was on every frag plug but one. And I went back and looked at their site, and found many of my WISIWIG frags as "SOLD". And on none of them was the long threads of algae presen in the picture. Now it's long threads, waving in the current. I removed what I could.

I know for many people this is not an issue. But in my little nano, I don't have any real herbivores ("don't put a tang in that little tank!"). So it's an issue. Now - for dealing with Midwest Frags, I've introduced a new algae into my environment that I've had no evidence of to this point.

Bummer. First algae problem I've had with a vendor. I'm hoping these will be some d*mn good looking frags. Based on this single experience, I would not recommend this vendor without qualification.

Hopefully your hermits & snails will take care of it. If you find it to be a big problem, let me know. I can hold them for a few days for you and my crew will decimate anything algae on those frags. The raptors I got at CMAC had algae all over the plug, my crew picked it clean in a few hours.

Yes I got very little algae on the plugs also but if your system has nothing to feed it then it should wilt away very quickly without any aid from a cuc. Can you post a pic of all this algae because the very little on my frags is barely noticeable.

I will be putting in another order in the close future as soon as they get back in some of the stuff they had out of stock. Again, I am very happy with my frags.

thanks again jeff and brian... i put them in last night late and havent got the chance to see the frags yet... i cant wait to see them tonight

Thanks Jeff....All my frags look great and are full of color which to me is the most important thing to me..I also had some algae but by the morning it was all gone.. my cuc took take care of that..I will post pic's of them later.

I think we should do this once a month.

Thanks

Nope. Don't have pics. Nothing to photograph because I abraded the frag plugs to get off as much as I could before I put it in the tank. But a description is easy... hair algae, green, threads up to 1/4" long waving in the dip water I used.

Now don't get me wrong. The frags are GREAT! Absolutely lovely, all opened up. They all look great, except the one I accidentally destroyed scraping the algae off.

So their frags appear to be really, really nice. But IMO sending frags with algae is bad form. For what frags cost, they should not be the source of introducing pests (be it animal or plant) into a tank. Or maybe that's just the newbie in me... expecting too much. But I have bought a lot of frags this year, and this was a first.

Oh... I did forget to mention. The acan frag I got was particularly fabulous. For the price, it was unbelievable. Maybe it's worth a small algae compromise. :)

Thanks to you guys and midwest frags for everything going so smooth. Glad everyone likes their frags. When they get the frags back in that I am waiting for I will post a thread to see who wants in on another order.

Half of my stuff that I got from the order arent looking so good, this is how they came right out of the bag.

Robert, take that frag out of the tank and remove the bubble algae as soon as you can. Carefully lift it with a knife/tweezers and then use a brush to scrub the surface really well. Trust me, you don't want bubble algae in your tank!

+1 on the bubble algae. Also, I think that second frag maybe showing signs of the zoa pox. Is that yellow spot supposed to be like that? If not maybe do the Furan dips just in case.

i just removed the bubble algae... and its 1 am right now and... it looks like i wont be around at all tomorrow.... i have my sunday planned out...
do i have to dip ever piece i have in the tank?
