So does anyone know if someone has taken charge and started organizing events and such? I was just wondering if an organized meeting had started or if that had fallen through.

Yep, it has started. I think you missed the last one. Next one coming up is Sunday Oct 14th at Thunder Canyon Brewery, 2-4 pm. A new thread will be started this week for the upcoming event.

I'll pitch in for a grab bag this time. I have ordered the SPS and LPS/ricordea/zoa frag packs from www.reefermadness.us before. All I can say is that if you order the SPS pack, there are going to be three or four VERY happy people, and the rest will have plain ol' brown acros.

I have been really unhappy with SPS from reefermadness, they seem to brown out easily. I think it would be nice if we all ordered some aquacultured frags from liveaquaria.com and then traded them when they grow out a little. It would allow us to all get lots of frags for a low price and we could share the cost of shipping. If we all got 3 frags a piece it would allow for a lot of good stuff and diversity.

...if you want to participate in the grab bag. I have some pertinent information to pass along as we will not be doing grab bag signups via Reef Central due to past complications. Depending on how many people email me, will determine if we do it this month or not. At the next meeting we will let everyone know how future grab bags will be handled. Thanks everyone!
