Frag Swap Location

OK folks, we had a little bit of a setback today. The church has decided not to allow any outside groups to use their fellowship hall due to others who have broken things. this is truly a bad apple spoiling the basket here to borrow from another thread. While we have always been very respectful and good with our locations, we will NOT be able to use this one.

At the meeting this weekend, please bring some Ideas on where we can have this. some MUST have's are Plenty of Power outlets on separate circuits, Tables and Chairs are good (we can rent at additional expense), Easy loading and unloading, and non carpeted floors due to the wet nature of our hobby. we need it to be at least 5000 sqft.

If you happen to know of a place that we can rent or use free, Please let me or Zef know via PM. I am going to try an old connection to see if it is available.

just got home from work and was going to post this thanks lindsey you are a big help with the swap..

yes guys lindsey is right i got the call today about it. and we are not able to use the hall.:(
i know past month ive been looking and most of the places i know of, and is way to high for us to use.$5000 and up.
so if anyone know somewhere let use know.

This may sound trite, but our budget is for as much Sq. Ft. as possible for as cheap.

we need at least 5000 sq.ft. and the church was going to run us a grand. we want to be as revenue nuetral as possible on it and would like to try and charge $1 per entry for a head count and to help offset that cost. the remainder of the costs would be offset with the Raffle tickets.

Well, I thought I had our issue resolved. I called the Boys & Girls club in Murfreesboro and they had a great setup @ $75/hour, but the swap is during basketball season and they would not be able to handle both events. Back to the drawing board. Have you guys looked into a YMCA or anything like that yet?

no. Ill see what I can do on those. I will have an answer on another church (I am a former member) with a VERy good location. ill know monday.

Cheng has found a possible location that is more central than the Boro, And it's cheaper!
I'll defer to Lindsay for the details, Or Cheng.

I wont post it here until it is 100% in the works.
we have 2 good leads and both are much more centrally located than the boro. however, I may need to crash at someone's place friday night.

I've called a lots of places last month high school and YMCA and all couldnt do it bc of basketball season. I'm going try the Nashville zoo and the science center Monday.

We are looking for what Lindsey post up top and under $2000. But if we charge for 1-$3 per person. Club members will be free.

Thanks for everyone that's pitching in.

Also if we can't get time night before to setup like 4hrs we will need it allday from 7-8or9 and the swap will be open from 12-6pm. On a Saturday.

Hi,
How about the Lane agri park in Murfreesboro. It is at 315 John R Rice Blvd and their phone number is (615) 898-771. It is where farmers market is now at. I don't know if it would meet our needs but its worth a try and it would still be in the boro. Also it looks like it will have a room about the size as the one we used at the church. I hate that all of this has happened, but at least it didnt happen in January.

No, the Lane agri park is indoors, if you google it you can see a picture of the building or you could drive by and see it if you live near the posted address.
I also thought of another place even though it probably would cost more than what we are looking at but its worth giving them a call. It is the Park Place at 521 Old Salem Road and the phone number is (615) 896-0000, it is in the boro. Again it is another one that might or might not meet our needs but just giving some ideas.

If we have a choice of location how about choosing a more central one this time around, As it has been in M'Boro several years. A Nashville location would maybe bring better attendance from the general public if Advertised that Folks know about it. People come from all area's and Nashville is central to them all JMO

if we were back in new orleans id have us hooked up easy with my connections but thats not the case here lol have ya tried any of the larger hotels down town, if ya pay there fee lots of major hotels dont care what ya hold lol

Parker, I was thinking about the ag center yesterday. I believe it is $2000 grand if I am not mistaken. Obviously the boro is great for myself and others, but having it in Nashville might get us some more attention.

Yeh my friend mentioned it to me and i figured it might work atcept for maybe the price. I like having it in the boro also because its easier for me to go too and i know a few that dont want to drive to Nashville for the frag show. I myself also think even though we might lose some attenders we would gain a couple more than we had last year. I dont care where its at myself just as long as we get a place and it all works out.
