Frag Swap Sponsorship Thread

Ladies and Gents.

I have created this thread to ask for input on who or what you want to see in terms of Raffle items, Door Prizes or Exhibitors at our Frag Swap. Please limit this thread to suggestions only and no discussions on them. I will be in charge of contacting the prospective sponsors and getting commitments. If you have a direct personal relationship with a Prospective Vendor, please send me a PM with that information. I may delegate it to you to gain that commitment.

Andy already has some commitments he acquired at the MACNA show, and we already have one exhibitor commitment at this time.

Once the list is finalized or close to it, we will announce those items.

Thanks

An mp40 would be a great door prize!! :jester: or we can award it to the person with the biggest, emptiest bow front!!!

Thanks guys. I wont make any promises, but ill see what I can do. I already have a good target list, just want to make sure we have our bases covered cause i can have my blonde moments. the more exciting the raffle items we can get, the easier t is to advertise for the swap.

With the economy being so bad don't expect much. Last years was hard to get what we got.

Thanks Lindsey for doing this it's helping us alot.

maybe some nice skimmers,pumps,lights.....i dont think it has to be anything grand does it? as far as a place for it i'll be on the look out for a place too

I like Gift Certificates - so you can get exactly what you want. So maybe gift certificates from AC, BRD, Ebay, etc. would be great as raffles or door prizes.

As far as exhibitors go, it would be great to have a custom tank manufacturer and/or sump manufacturer there.

Gc has not been The swap the past few years and doesn't do small swaps..we had ocea who I am not sure is making tanks at thebmoment.

Ecotech, sunlight supply, digital aquatics, AC, Bulk Reef Supply all ready have contact taken care of.

Andy, I am making a master spreadsheet for them all. Please email or PM me the specifics on Sunlight, DA, BRS and AC so I can account for them. I garnered one today that all will be excited about. I cannot announce it yet, but I guarantee it will be a hot item.

Ocea is most certainly making tanks as i just ordered one today! They are indeed under new Mgt and the Quality is superior again as it was at first. They have raised their prices a bit but for quality you get what you pay for.
And they only sell through LFS such as AC, Ebayfish and Fins
If anyone is interested contact your favorite LFS for pricing
Bill

i secound the Gift Certificates too, make it easier on the LFS on not needing to haul things to the swap and such....be atleast a good door prize

Just a thought for a raffle prize, if several us from the club donated a mid range coral (or high dollar if you wanted) to make up one large coral pack or an "SPS pack" and a "Softie Pack", we may generate a decent amount of revenue from it.

As for vendors, I remember Reef Nutrition was here 2 years ago, but I think AC had some of their stuff last year, so I do not know if they would want to come again or let AC handle it. Obviously the choice in getting a free pump would be an MP40, but you may want to look into the Sicce Voyagers as well.

BTW Bill, Light House Corals is selling them again as well.

Some good things I can think of for raffle items: nano tanks, any type of lighting, skimmers, gift certificates are good, frags, timers, controllers

Funny Glass Cages doesn't do "small" swaps anymore. They were at the first 2 Nashville swaps.

Matt @ Sustainable Aquatics comes to mind as a good sponsor.

Chris

Two little fishes makes nice stuff such as reactors, so they may be someone of interest to contact as well.

That would be great to get Julian Sprung (Owner, Two little Fishes) as the guest speaker for the Swap as he has amazing Knowledge on Reefs and has been around for as long as I can remember. Thing is he is hit the big time and may not be available to a small meeting as this.
Bill
PS a Company that sells RODI units would be helpful to many new comers also.

Good points Bill. On a side note, Julian is quite expensive. he was discussed at our meeting. we have some others in the works, but I cannot divulge that information until it is locked in.

Keep the comments coming. several that are mentioned are NOT RC sponsors, but are good products none the less. My list has grown and hopefully we are able to get more sponsorship. we have 8 vendors already accounted for....

well pickup can devulge the info but then he would have to sneek into ones home like a ninja and take what ya have.....call him the reef ninja :D lol
