Frag swap "TIMES UP!" mysteries...

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone who brought these frags can help me ID them better and maybe a little bit more info on some of them. I have the lids so hopefully someone can recognize their writing. PM is fine too!

Thanks!

The Acan echinata was purchased as a wild by myself and Mike B. and fragged for the raffle on behalf of MARS.

"Ugly" Monti is Mr.Ugly Himself, from BAR.

We asked Norman (Mr Ugly) at the swap and he said it wasn't him...I'll ask again. Thanks!

Still waiting for it to open up but so far the light blue skin and red dots looking close to a superman...

I thought it was ugly brown when my wife brought it from the tables. But after putting it in quarantine under 4 24w T5's it looks brownish/orange with green streaks. Not bad! :)

Sorry for the bad pic...

I need to remember to bring my surefire light next swap.

Mike, Brian,

Yep, the "Ugly" corals were from me :)

I must have misheard you, Mike. Sorry!

That monti keeps the blue more easily for me than Superman.

The polyps are more red/maroon than red/orange.

You might try moving over to high/indirect light to get the polyps to open more.

But don't keep moving it around a lot. The polyps seem to stay retracted for a a while(weeks) after moving.

One of my favorite montis, btw. It truly started out an ugly ugly brown way back when :)

The echinata was a burnt orange with green, and I had it in my QT for about a month or so under halides (full colony). It started really bringing out the orange and the greens.

Who all got some of that bright green favite from MARS too? It was a sweet looking piece - almost felt bad cutting it up! (almost ;))

Are you talking about this favia?

I was surprised that it fell to me since I was a 4. I almost took it with my first bonus pick but I went with this instead

I am very happy to have gotten both.

It's like Paul said, even if you don't have a bonus round it won't matter.
There was still $50 frags on the table for the 3rd round of rounds!!

It was nuts!!!

There was a lot of good stuff left into the later rounds. I scored even into my 4th and 5th pick. That just speaks for the quality of the swap and the members participating. Good show everyone.

Special Thanks to Rob from Underwater Paradise (Marysville). The branching dendra I got was a piece that he donated to the swap even though he couldn't make it. He has a great shop with a large collection of frags. (great prices)
