hook it into your main systems sump if you can. itll save you alot of frustration and money

i was thinking about using a hob filter and carbon.

second brandon, it's a lot easier to connect. if you go standalone I would do the same as any other system - skimmer, carbon, GFO. for a skimmer suggestion checkout the mojo~ skimmer thread. I believe Aqua-C remora is good for a 55

ok i was thinking i wouldnt need much filtration since it will just have frag and no fish.
