Going to be putting together a nano frag tank
18"x14"x8" aio. I want to add a couple small fish. What are the nicest/prettiest small fish??

That's kind of like a studio apartment. I would stick to one type of particular fish, like a shrimp goby and pistol shrimp, or a nice jawfish.
Firefish do great in small enclosures as well and they are beautiful fish.

for a frag tank I would not put ornamental fish.. better to put useful fish like a six line wrasse for parasites and a lawnmower blenny for algae.. if you want some color throw in something cheap like chromies or damsels.. i'm assuming no sand in a frag tank so shrimp goby/shrimp pair won't work or even jawfish..

Just started a 40 g frag with 30g sump. I followed advice of some local friends and went with a Wrasse and a small yellow tang for cleaning. There are a few other tangs recommended for cleaning algae too. I just had this one already in another tank:)

I went with the fairly unusual choice of two Blue Damsels and a maroon clown. One, I like the constant movement in the tank. Two, I knew it was the only option for me ever to own Damsels because I'd never put one in my main tank. 3) I love getting bit when I move stuff around in there. Brave little suckers!

I would say go for a lawnmower blenny, I had one for 6 years before taking down my 40 gallon display, very helpful fish and entertaining to watch.
