skimmer will be here in a couple days. Can't wait!!

Thats pretty sweet, what are the dimensions of the tank? What equipment are you going to be using? Can't wait to get my 180 running so I can plan my frag tank :)

It's 26x26x17. I Just got it running as we speak. Mag7. Got a bubble magus 3.5 coming Thursday But I haven't made up my mind on a light yet. I'm getting gurgling from my sump every once in a while. Thank god it's in my basement. I'm looking into the stockman overflow pipes. My tank has a overflow box on the back of this tank

That is a great size. Big enough for a kole tang and sixline for pest / algae control.

How many holes do you have in the overflow box? You may be able to the beananimal silent and failsafe drain.

The bubble magus should handle that tank pretty well, good choice, I like my NAC 7.

You have so many lighting options, as you probably know. You going to do a canopy, or a hanging fixture. I just built a light rack for my 180 using 8020 quick frame and it is awesome.

My Inspiration

The difference in mine is that I have 28 royal blue LEDS on 36" RapidLED 1" heatsinks with the MH (20K bulbs) and two 48" T5s for Actinic. You could do something similar with smaller 4- 24" bulbs, smaller LED heatsinks and skip the MH. I can help you with the DIY LEDS if you wanted.

Good luck.

The overflow has one hole. I might try to make the stockman stand pipe to make it quieter, as for lights I am leaning toward led But I don't know ANYTHING on making one. I appreciate the offer. How much u think it'll cost? Cause for lil less than $200 I can get a 141w led system. Not a name brand but worth the shot for that price. No canopy. I'm gonna hang Sumtn

Probably more then 200, after all is said and done, so that other fixture may be worth it.

Stockman or Herbie would be good for that overflow. You may want to think about adding an emergency drain just in case, but you'd have to drill another hole.

Can't wait to see it filled with frags!

I gotta make the stockman myself I guess? I do work at a plumbing supplie place so I have everything on hand.

If you have access to the parts and some tools, its pretty easy. Looks like you are having a fun day.

Nice progress, I've been silently following along. What lights are you gonna run on this badboy?

Looking good cap. You may want to see if your camera has a white balance adjustment. You'll get better photos if you can set it up. How's the BM 3.5 doing?

Thanks. Pic are from my iPhone. I left the skimmer alone for a week and just recently adjusted it and the up is half full of doodoo brown junk already so I am VERY pleased with it. Great skimmer for under $200 hands down!
