Fragging a leather in DT

Hey All,
I have a cabbage leather in my DT that is starting to encroach on other corals Devils Hand, Ricordias, Gorgonia, and a small colony of Duncans. I was just looking to trim it back. I really like where it is and would hate to pull the entire rock out and detach the other corals on it. They just seem to never go back in the same way :rollface:.

Are there any risks to fragging in the display tank?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use one of my old paring knives and just trim in the tank.. a razor blade works as well

there are no risks to frag in the tank.. use sharp knives or blades.... mostly for small frags i use surgeon blades.. lobo's i frag by knife of scissor...they have to be clean and very sharp... after fragging the coral can be closed of a few days but not always... give the wound some flow....after healing there will be new polyps on the wound.

The downside to fragging it in the tank is that it is hard to see where you are cutting.

I have a few razor blades at the house and will give it a shot this weekend. I have an idea of the path I will take with the razor which should give me another 6 months before I have to trim again.

Just wanted to make sure it would start releasing anything bad into the water. I am expecting a lot of slime to come from the cut but will manage.

depends of which coral.... normally sinularia, lobophtyon and other leathers will not give any problems... lithophyton can be slimy and its difficult to frag.. (bleeding)
