Fragging an echinophyllia

My echinophyllia has grown out fairly well and now it is touching the back wall of the aquarium. I want to frag it and would generally take it out and use a dremel, however it may be difficult to remount it back in place. My question is, can I use poultry shears and frag it in the tank, or would it be wiser to remove it and stick with the dremel even if I can't remount it where it was?

A dremel would be easier on the coral. If you want to keep it where it is it will be fine to do it with the shears.
