Fragging Demo & Swap - November 9th

Ok guys and gals, Here is a tally of who is going and what time slots.
(there were 2 of you that said "either session" so I plugged you into the second session to even out the numbers, please PM me if that's a problem)

We still have slots available everyone!! I'd like to see at least 10 people/couples in each session so I'll open the first time slot back up.

I am going to put a deadline to signup so we can take a final headcount and prepare for the event. Please sign up no later than Thursday (you can still pay at the door, but please let us know you will be attending).

Also, if you are bringing anything to have fragged by the saw and/or fragged for the group, please let me know so we can keep a tally of that as well!

By the way, this event was NOT today like I thought it was. Idiot me drove an hour all the way over there. At least I got to see Joe from PC who was working his second day there. He is planning on taking their coral tanks up to the next level and do the buying for all of the stores.

So I bought a nice Joe the Coral frag in his honor and headed home again, stopping off at Blake's to buy some crabs and some salt. Sometimes I think I just shut the brain off on weekends
 
Me, my dad and brother would like to attend the 2nd session if there's still room. I can either Paypal or at the door just let me know
 
If space still allows, please add me to the 2nd session. I don't have a colony to bring but can bring a few frags of birds nest created using the "Franky" method. Photo of the original colony attached. I might have some other frags as well including small pink and green birds nest frags from pieces I originally got from Swanny. If possible, I would like to pay at the door.

Just wanted to confirm that I will be bringing the Toadstool Cap to frag. It is a light tan color with Green polyps....
 
I am confirming I can bring the zoas and the other soft coral to frag.

The zoas are having a small issue. I don't think it's disease though...here is the thread with my tank parameters and pics of the issue http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2347047.

For the soft coral I will just cut a section of it right before I head up to the meeting...so it won't be secured to anything. That's ok right? I'm new to fragging...

Is that what we're doing? Bringing our own corals to carve? I thought the club was buying corals and we were cutting those up.

I don't need to cut up my own corals. I know how to do that...and don't even have corals right now.

Juuuust curious.

Don't worry about the zoanthids for now. Let them heal up, you can always trade them later.

As far as the soft coral, if you're not sure how to do it, not a big deal.

The club is buying corals.

However, we did encourage anyone that wanted to bring something to frag and share to do so.

Also, We are going to try and show those who don't know how to frag a few different techniques on how to do so.

Ok. Yeah, great. I just wanted to make sure. I'd bring stuff if I had it but I don't!

The few corals I still have are back home. Hoping to get them at Xmas.
 
Great demo and swap! I got some great stuff! Thanks so much Sass (Nicole), PLReef (Jas) and CTARS for putting on a great event! I learned some great stuff. Can't wait for the next event!
 
Great job to Sass and Jas, you picked some great corals and we all left with lots of goodies. Nice to put faces to some names as well. Many thanks to APC for hosting!!
