fragging devils hand while still in the tank

I searched& didn't really find any solid answers to my question
I have a large devils hand that needs to be trimmed back
Anyone know for sure if I can frag it while still in the tank? It's attached to a large rock that is not removable
I'll run carbon obviously , but not sure on how toxic it is
My tank is 220 gal

You should be ok doing this. I've fragged plenty of soft corals in the tank without any problems. This is usually done right before a water change though.

Shouldn't be an issue, I've done it several times, just use a sharp pair of scissors

I concur. I've snipped them off right in the tank with scissors. I will run fresh carbon afterwards. Mine recovered pretty quickly and new growth on the cut location covered it up in a week or two.
