fragging duncan

hi i have a duncan coral it is not branching though. its got a small hard base that isnt much larger than half an inch long or wide but the polyps on this thing are HUGE. can i frag it like a xenia?

just cut flesh and attach it to a rock with a rubber band and a toothpick or something? This duncan doesnt have long branching stalks making it easy to cut. anyone have experience or know what kind of duncan im talking about? ive got a pic to post once lights are on ><

thanks for the help.

If I was you I wouldn't worry about fragging it yet. not until it has more of a hard skeleton to cut off and frag. But with a lps corral you would not want to cut the soft part of it like a soft coral. You would cut through the hard skeleton and reattach it on a plug and let it grow.

The way i do it is with a sharp sterol pare of dykes. make a quick hard squeeze and it should just cut right through. with this method i have had a 95 percent survival rate when glues to a frag plug. hope this helps.

Hey, keep it clean here when describing your fraggin exploits! The appropriate term is "lesbians"...

This is def. the way you would want to do it! i would wait for it to grow a little more though!do you have branching or non branching?

+1 Duncans will grow fast with spot feeding
+1 To small to frag

Its fraggable dont get me wrong, but if something goes wrong you could easily lose the entire coral.. I would def let it get bigger.
