Well I have had this beautiful ultra blue elegance coral for quite awhile now and it has turned into a beast. It is effectively killing its neighbours through stinging and overshadowing. It has been in a prime spot in my reef and has loved it. Here it is pressing against the glass...

So thats it for day 1. The beast is looking great immediately after cutting. Looks like there will be no problem. Will post progression pics as they heal. Thanks for the interest and comments.

It's a beautiful elegance. Good luck.

Did you slow flow down around it to help with healing, or is that necessary?

Actually Im keeping it in a relatively high flow area that occasionally changes to low flow due to the current manipulators. Thinking it will help with the tissue necrosis and to keep it healing optimally. Also thats the original position that it thrived in for quite awhile so dont want to shock it with an environmental change.

Ok cool, I'll be tagging along on this. Your clown doesn't look like he looks happy at anytime. he is awesome looking though.

Lol hes pis.s.ed because his girl is missing. I got to get him a new and improved younger version...something that would do us all some good :lolspin:

That's crazy. I never thought someone would cut these up due to slight chance of its survival./QUOTE]
Thats why Im doing this to spread the knowledge because on the contrary elegance are hardy corals when their needs are met.
brave of you.
what did you use to cut it?/QUOTE]
Used the new Gryphon aquasaw....worked great

SORRY FIGURING OUT HOW TO QUOTE PROPERLY
Pics to follow...

Needless to say they are looking great so far, even back to stinging the neighbouring colonies of nuclear greens and purple deaths and armour of god and rainbow palys

Thats it to report for day two but as you can see there isnt much to fragging these when they are ready and healthy and their needs are met. More tomorrow...

I have a big one and I now to you for being so brave to chop it up. I can't swallow my pride just yet.

Thanks guys for the compliments...but at this point Im pretty confident there will be no issues. Im sure you guys can pull it off too:cool:...
