first question is when I attach a softie (zoo) i use gel super glue and attach to a plug or rock put in my my frag tank for a month and then move it to my main. Withing hours it has come unattached and is loss in the abyss.
second question when I try to mount a frogspawn type I use the underwater putty but it doesn't seem to hold. what are the tricks of trade that i don't do? thanks in advance

For fragging zoas I recommend "crazy glue gel". I frag out of the water and I use a good amount. After I apply gel I put the frag in the water and it hardens up right away.

For the putty that you mix a piece from each of two sticks
try kneading it in between your fingers till it hardens a bit.
Also putting the putty in the microwave for 5seconds will give you the same effect.
(after you knead the two together.) you can do this a few times till it hardens a bit, make sure to knead after every 5 seconds in microwave.
Once the putty is hardened up a bit, the putty dries faster and applies and holds things better.

You're welcome! post more in this thread with how it goes, I'm sure other more experienced fraggers can help as well. pics too!

That doesn't sound like a terrible idea. I've always taken the cheater's way out and let the frags grow onto the disc/shell/whatever I want them to and just cut the connecting tissue. This might work a bit better in the quick department.

I've only fragged LPS corals in the past myself. A dremel is an awesome tool for cutting off a few heads from the mother colony.
