Last week I fragged a rhodactis that was too big for my display.
I intentionally cut 2 pieces of disc only and 2 with filaments included.
The pieces with filaments are still alive although not exactly happy. They are currently resting in a custom made rubble box in my tank. The other pieces without the filaments melted after a few days.
Another shroom was attached to a rock that was going to end up permanently shaded so I decided to cut him away from the rock as close as possible. When I did this I noticed the filaments inside. This piece is also restingin my rubble box until it decides to attach to something.
Over at GARF.org I saw an article that advised fragging shrooms by snipping off a piece of the disc with scissors. This confused me because in my experience shroom frags appear to need some mesenteric filaments along to succeed. however I have noticed filaments radiating up into the disc in my rhodactis.
Would someone with more experience share with me how the filaments fit into the shroom fragging equation? Thanks.
