Fragging Zoa's on a polyp basis

I was to frag some zoa's, but dont want to smash up the rock they are on & simply want to create mini frags with single polyps on them so that they grow in to normal frags, but whats the best way to get single polyps off the main collection. I considered a razor blade, but is near on impossible when the zoa's are matted.
