Frags for sale

Hey guys... among the many people I've distributed the original Superman to over the years was a guy named Charlie, who goes by easttn I believe on RC here and is from down there in Tennessee. Anyway, that might help in tracking down the lineage...

Yep, Charles got two pieces from John awhile back, one of which he gratefully picked up for me. Charles picked it up while he was up visiting his folks one Christmas, if I recall. It grew quite fast for Charles before his tank crash, but has not grown so fast for me. It's next to an aggressive acro which encrusts rapidly and is always encroaching on the SM. It's probably 6+ square inches now, and will soon be growing up the back glass. Unfortunately, you can't see most of it.

I did distribute 2 small frags of the same fairly recently, but alas, my short-term memory is shot and I can't recall to whom. Also, I meant to say my sunset is from Hugo, so if you got a SM frag from me, it can be traced back to John.

Yeah Dave... it went down as many coral transactions do... in a parking lot like a drug deal... :D

Glad to see it being spread... I started selling it so many years ago that many people could trace it back to me, including Maximus and Marty from Alaska... the first person in Alaska to have it that I know of!

killereef, FWIW it appears the one in the shot is very similar to one of the "rainbow" montiporas. Doesn't appear to be a SM as the polyp colors don't usually ever show that shade regardless of conditions. You could already see the different shade of polyps reminiscent of the rainbow... whatever it is I could tell you it will be nice...

Under spectacular water conditions these montis will shine... but under less than great conditions they are often the first to dull in color... the sunset I've found to be a fast grower that shows it colors under many different conditions...

John:

Yeah, speaking of those "deals", I've often wondered what the neighbors think when strange cars come over to "visit" only to leave after less than an hour with a cardboard box. That, and the intense blue-tinted lights that eminate from the house after dark, obviously more intense than they should be!

I've found the SM to not be a fan of 10k lighting. I've almost bleached it once, and it has colored back up for me since going with RF 10k (not a true 10k, with a big blue spike). A very nice coral which we're still seeing wild and aquacultured colonies arriving on occasion .

Combine that with large bucket of "kalk powder" ;)

We were accused of growing 'grass in our living room' within the first three days of being in our new house by the former home owner association president because he was ignorant about marine lighting being blue and decided to show his stupidity by opening his mouth on something he was ignorant to.

I have two cops that live on my street and I wonder what they think about people coming over in short spurts to pick up a baggie and walk to their car, baggie in hand;).
