Frags for the meeting tomorrow - Free!

Hey all,

I have some coral I will be bringing to to the meeting to give away. These were some of my first pieces and I have grown out of them so I thought I would give a little back to people in a similar situation. Also, if somebody wants to trade frag pieces, lets use this thread to set it up. I have not seen the typical flurry of available trades before the meeting I so look forward to.

Stuff for free!:
3 large pieces of brown palys (over 20 polyps I imagine each) - I might be able to break it up into more pieces if there is an interest. (3+ frags)

Some Colt coral (purple and light brown). This thing is growing out of control, so I will take a couple cuttings tonight. (2+ frags)

Some Kenya tree frags - maybe enough for about 2-3. (2 frags)

Orange digi frags - about 5 pieces glued to a rock and doing well (I accidentally busted it into 5 pieces when I cut it off the main colony) :( - surprisingly they are growing fast as individual pieces and might look real nice when they converge. I can cut the rock they are attached to to into about 2-3 pieces (2 frags)

A couple green mushrooms - very bright and nice, and seem to like splitting all their own. (1-2 frags)

Candy cane coral frags. I just bought these but realized I already had some, so time to share the wealth! (1-2 frags)

Some of these will be cuttings that I will prep tonight, but I can tell you how to get them to attach. I think that's part of the fun really, learning how to propagate. Let me know what you would like and I will hook you up. The qty above are estimates. Please share!

I'll take 1 or 2 polyps of the greenish/blueish candy cane.

Mike is it the orange digi from Aaron in Oakland?if yes that's a sweet Monti!

Thanks Ed

The candy canes are single polyps on a good piece of skeleton - I am sure they will sprout new ones soon - love to eat in the evenings. Ok, candy canes are spoken for! :)

Actually the digis are branching style that I got from Justin a little while back (sorry for the confusion). I bought a good size piece and decided to cut the bottom piece off, well it hit the floor and busted into 5 little 1/3-3/4" pieces. I glued them to a rock where they have healed and started to grow like small stalagmites off the rock base.

Hmm... I do have an orange cap I can break a couple pieces off - Orange w/dark orange polyps. I got it at the frag swap and it is looking great. So add that to the list too... 2 frag pieces of orange caps free!

Steve, you got it. Its the least I could do after an awesome job you did soldering that laptop mboard together for me. Gave it a test - might actually work if I can figure out how to get all the pieces together again. :(

I will put together a list at the end of the thread late tonight after I frag it all on what pieces I will bring and for whom - more for my own benefit than anything else.

Mind if I get a piece of the orange cap? I will look in my tank tonight to see what I can contribute back to the list.

i'd like to give a colt and orange digi a try, i have not tried digis in a long time since my nice purple one i had for a year died from RTN

wow this is sweet... i'm not asking for anything but this is one nice guy. Could have made a few $$$ but decides to share with the rest of the Reefing community. Mr. Mike I salute you and one day when my reef tank is settled, i'll be doing the same for all the folks who've helped me out. Again, 2 thumbs up for you.

is there any orange cap left? i would like a piece of that as well but i would like to give you somthing in return. would you like some red macro algae? or a green textured (possibly tonga) shroom that has hints of orange and pink tips on its frills?

Lilleah, I think I can get another chunk off that guy, Mind you they will be rather small frags, but I can tell you from experience they will definitely grow! If you have some macro algae to go with my chaeto I picked up from Steve, a little diversity is always a good thing.

MaxedOut,
I am just glad I am able to give a little something back to the group. You all have helped me in one way or the other, so the least I can do is share some of the spoils of all that effort.

Sure nobody wants those Palys?! hehe, they are indestructible and love to eat mysis and just about anything that flies into their mouths. It was my very first coral, courtesy of one Ed Simmons. ;)

Mike are you looking for anything in particular that I can give you in return. I have some red shrooms, blue shrooms, a small piece of green hammer that I can frag tonight that has 2 heads on a branch.

if you have some palys i'll take some

Also the P. brown is doing awesome.

Thanks again

Alan

Following along in Mike's great example, I have the following frags for free. My only request is that when they grow out in your tank - you frag it and give it away for free to MARS member. Pickup at tomorrow night's meeting.

1. Pink zoas with green skirt (2 frags of 4 polyps each)
2. A single hammer coral (very pale pink/peach)
3. Zoa - brownish burgundy with green mouth (1 polyp)

Minh

PS - If I don't recognize your name (ie you have really not contributed to this forum) - don't bother responding.
