After my big (self-induced) desaster I'm finaly ready to start re-stocking my reef.

Im looking for small frags of softies. leathers and such to start.

If you have any thing you need to thin out please pm me with details so we can work something out.

Thanks, Steve

Steve,
I'm sure I can come up with a few frags to help get you going again. I'm not sure if it's anything that would be worth the drive over this way for you, or not. Give me a few days, and I will try to make a list of what I could cut on so you can see if you think it is worthwhile.

What happened to your tank?

He had a thread right after the big frag swap where it was almost totally wiped out. I think it was narrowed down to a bit of neglect due to him having a baby born at the time and not being there enough to maintain properly.

Steve,
If you do make it over this way I have a few softies I could offer that I believe I got from you to start with. Maybe a bit of anthelia, xenia and a couple polyps of different colors of zoas if you want. I'm sure there are lots of guys in C-SEA that could spare a chunk of this and a polyp of that for you. Several people I have talked with have gotten frags from you before and you know what goes around comes around.

Let me know and maybe I can get them ready and meet you at Josh's place so you don't have to try to find my house after going to his.

Just found the old thread here. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=804842

I thought maybe something else happened. I know during the swap he lost all his SPS, but now he was looking for softies. I thought maybe it was a different tank.

Maybe just trying to start out with the softies and then get back into the SPS after some easier success :)

thats a good sumary,

A bit of bad luck, extrem over stocking, other priorities. are very bad news for a reef tank.

thanks for the generous offers, Maby I can get out for a drive one evening next week.
Steve,

my reasoning for some softies first is to use them to help up the water quality to 1st class levels. Prior to trying to re-introduce sps.
I've always liked the Idia that live rock, live sand, macro alge, and hardy (non-invasive) corals and a decent skimmer. are the back bone to a sturdy stable reef tank.

my single bigest error prior to the crash was allowing biomass to get out of controll. I literaly had every inch covered in corals. at least 1/3 of my tank volume was ocupied by coral. I kept puting off my large sump/fuge/skimmer upgrade as well as some serious fraging. with any luck I'll learn from my mistake.

Steve,

my goal is to get my tank near its old glory in about 2 1/2 years

I have some GSP, toadstool, finger leather and devils hand. I also have some zoa and sun polyps if you are interested.
