going in the trash otherwise. should be water tested. i filled it the the other day and it held water but i would still check it. it was outside for a month or so.

No, thank YOU Scott. I got the tank home and water-tested it. It does leak, but hey, it was free. I'm guessing that the baked silicone was worked loose in the course of moving it. I'm going to try the resealing method described here:

I've had two false starts at trying to reseal it, so last night I decided to step it up a notch and take the whole bottom panel off. Cleaned it all up, laid down new silicone, and I'll let it cure for a couple of days. Will water-test again on Thursday. Keeping my fingers crossed...
