If you want CDP some to me. Then you can get them back. Otherwise I'll buy anything SPS that is not just green

Ive really been wanting to join but if i understand correctly you have to sign up in person? Who do i talk to? Im in St Charles so may be tough to make it to the pizza night on Friday...i'll make it to a meeting one of these days though. Its a great group and the CDP is very cool.

That's funny.... I thought your tank was having major issues maybe and you had to move corals. I was headed to a meeting and did not read the whole list.

We prefer to handle membership signups at SLASH events because its the most convenient for us but sometimes we can make other arrangements if required.

I'll take one of each.....

Frag tease indeed, after I opened and started to read the post I realized what he was up to, but the email got my attention so I guess it worked.

Is there a "point buyback" for the CDP? I wanted to discuss this with y Friday but since it came up. Seems like we may have run in to a situation where lots of folks who are in the CDP have the same corals as others so fragging has somewhat stalled. Is there a rule that one could buy points to the CDP for cash thereby making a modest donation to the clubs coffers?(sp) and in turn being eligible to receive more new and exciting frags?

Interesting idea, worthy of further discussion. On first impression I'm not too keen on the idea as it takes away from one of the primary purposes of the CDP, which is to share corals among friends, not buy them. I think it would take away a bit of the altruistic nature of the program if money played a factor. The swap's raffle is a great place to donate coral if you want help the club more financially.

The club gets saturated with fast growing corals. What is the rule on getting rid of corals outside of the cdp if you haven't met your 3frag min but nobody wants them?

The details are in the rules sticky but basically you can give them away, donate them to the swap raffle, throw them away, use them personally for calcium reactor media, lawn ornaments.... You just can't sell, trade, barter for services or receive any sort of compensation until your 3 frag min is met.

Though I do see your point that destroying the coral is more beneficial to the club than trading someone outside of the club for coral not in the cdp (to bring more new corals in) it still seems dumb. I can understand the need to keep the cdp alive but if you flood the cdp page with ads for frags and no one wants them why not let the person trade?

We are not advocating destroying corals as a first option, obviously it's the last.

If no one wants them free through the CDP who would trade? The best place for these misfit corals is the CDP tank at the frag swap. If someone takes them you get a point. If not they go in the raffle and go home with someone who is there supporting the club with no requirements attached. So load up your cooler in a few months and bring them to the swap. We would love to see the CDP tank full for new members to choose from. The CDP is full of great corals and if you can't find something you want you didn't look or have the most impressive system I have ever heard of.
