Free Emerald Mithrix Crab - Pick-Up only

I finally caught my emerald crab. He is a large (1" carpace) male. He eats mushrooms, tastes softies, and murders fish. He is free. He can be picked up in Chicago at Ashland and Division anytime soon, but if no one claims him he goes to the fish store.

I don't care if he goes in your sump or is fed to your puffer/trigger/shark/baby sister. All I care is that he is gone. If there are no takers, I will see if my LFS wants him.

Sorry Jeni, we did go up there but Adam was unable to catch the little crab. We ended up going to old orchard aquarium, coral reef and ocean design, saw some cool corals and Adam got a small zoa frag for $5!

little, nothing. you should have seen the fight he put up tonight when i finally caught him. he lifted a 1.5 pound pice of live rock off the ground, clinging on as I tried to pull him up.

I can imagine you fighting with the crab. How did it go with the landlord? did he find a leak? I had my own problems later on, when i made it home and after acclimating, i splashed water all over my power strip, i dont know how but i did. I heard weird noises from it and inmediately turned the switch off, i went out in a hurry and ended up buying a home depot strip(since its the closest store to me). Got lucky with this since my tank was without power for only about half hour i also bought an extra powerstrip just in case it happens again.

Do they typically act that way? Emerald Crabs that is...

supposedly its a hit or miss thing, i had one he did not eat a single fish but he was eating away at the live rock.

Actually, I've been told it's the males (large claws) that are the offenders. The females (small claws) should be OK.
