I want to see if I can get something off the ground and set up ready for this weekend, either Friday night or Saturday night. It will give people a chance to stop by and see the tank, eat some food, drink some beers, listen to some music and play some cards. I know I'm not the only one that doesn't ever have anything going on on the weekend...
I'd like to have a nice little No Limit Hold 'Em tournement if anyone is interested. I'll supply all of the food, and that will be determined by who's coming and what they want to have. We can grill some meat and all that good stuff or whatever people want. I'd like to make it a dinner type thing before the card playing.
I was thinking about a $10 or $15 buy in, or no buy in at all...it's up to the masses. If we do buy ins, the winner could leave with upwards of $100 if enough people come. What we used to do was play 'winner take all' if there isn't that many people playing, but if there are we could pay out 2 or even 3 spots. It's something we could all decide together. I also play buy backs for an hour after we start playing. All this means is that for one hour after we start, you can buy back the starting amount of chips for the same buy in. Having the buy back feature sometimes makes people play a little looser in the beginning knowing they can just buy back in...and it gets the amount of $$ we're playing for higher. :fish2:
I'm thinking a BYOB type of thing will work. I was thinking about supplying booze too...but I don't think I could swing it AND the food. Plus buying  for 6-10 people would be insane. lol
If you're interested, post here so everyone knows that there are players committed. (There are already 2 people committed and I'd like to play with at least 6. 8 would be better, and 10-12 would be awesome.) If you've never played, it's a GREAT time. If you have someone you want to bring, they are more than welcome. Their money is good in my house! If you have someone that you want to bring that's not into cards, that's fine too! I'd say the starting time will also be up for discussion depending on who wants to come etc. I was thinking we could eat, shoot the breeze etc later on in the afternoon and play cards a little later than that. Eat and start cards by 8'ish? Again, that's just an idea.
I also want to mention that I have 2 children...a son that is almost 3 and a daughter that just turned 1, so kids are ok! There are toys everywhere, both boy and girl. My house is not breakable. :wavehand: A neighbor of mine might play as well, and she has a 4 year old daughter and 7 year old son. So the kids will be playing in the kids rooms and the adults will be outside outback.
Lastly I'll mention that I do have the very expensive clay poker chips so no one has to bring any. They must be made by Tyree because there's no way they are worth what I paid! :spin1: And I've maybe used them 3 times. Sad.
So go watch your copy of Rounders on DVD or try to catch some older tourneys on ESPN and try to get your poker face on for the weekend! If you show up wearing a black hoodie pulled over your head, big sunglasses on so we can't see your eyes and face, and earbuds in while you listen to your IPOD...I might make fun of you. This isn't Vegas, it's my backyard.:beer::beer:

Almost forgot, part of the buy in for each person is a cup of sand for my newly set up tank. :fish2::fish2:
