But, I know my membership only went through 9/16/18, so I was going to renew at the swap. Is there somewhere to do that on the website instead? I figured out that I could pay like I was a new member, but I didn't think that was correct. Need some clarification.

It's a great question of thank you for asking it. We are trying to stay on top of expired memberships and typically do them at the end of the month.

After the first year of this new website it should all be taken care of automatically. Thanks everyone for their patience.

Maybe for the time being, edit the name of that button that says "Become a supporting member" to "Become a supporting member/Renew your current membership"."

It's can link to the same landing page, we just need to know that you can do both there.
