I picked up some live rock from a guy who tore down his tank, and he gave me his live sand, too. However, I don't need the sand so I'm giving it away to whoever wants to come get it. He gave it to me in a 5 gallon bucket, and it fills it up about half way. Twenty pounds, maybe.
It isn't the oolitic size (which is why I don't need it), but also definitely not crushed coral. Its kind of in between. I would say each piece is about 1 mm.
Since its not from my tank, I can't vouch for it. But, its definitely "live", as I've picked out two Nassarius snails already.
Just send a PM if you would like to come get it. I also have a green spotted mushroom on a frag plug if you want that, too. I put a power head in it to move the water a bit in the mean time. I live in Highlands Ranch, and work in Aurora.... so either location is ok with me.
