I have discovered I have AEFW. I will not keep said AEFW. I took as large a frag of all my frags that contained no broken flesh and threw them in QT. I have what's left free to an adventurous home. I want them out of my DT ASAP, so if no takers quick, I will toss them in the garbage.

I dipped all of these in Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure which gets the AEFW off, but will not touch the eggs. I saw no eggs, but they are probably there. Not all of the frags had AEFW's on them, but I am taking no chances.

You can try to bring these back to health and hope there's no AEFW eggs on them. Maybe you already have AEFW's and don't care. Either way, come and get em.

Take all or none.

I have what I will call "stumps." They all had some living flesh on the frag plugs when I put them back in the DT, so you can make them grow! I'm not saying they're big, but they're there.

I also have a head or two of green euphyllia that broke off that I don't want.

Any idea where you got the flatworms, be nice to warn people so others may avoid getting AEFW's. Was it a LFS or Trade/Swap?

unfortunately, you can get them from just about anywhere. Dips are only effective on the live ones not the eggs, so anyone who doesn't do weeks of QT while the eggs hatch with repeated dips can have them. I actually didn't know I had them until I turkey basted an SPS for something else and they went flying off.

I have heard of them coming in from the most respected online dealers and from LFS' and reefers alike. The only "cure" as far as I am aware is proper QT. No store will take the weeks to do that.

I still have them. Call me. I would like them out of the tank tonight if possible since I want to start the fallow period ASAP.

thanks!

I just bought 4 more ORA corals. I'm not sure which they are, but with my new QT program, I am going to hack the bottom (frag plug) off of each of them and remount them. Therefore I have 4 more ORA "stumps." I have seen no AEFW on these, it's just my new procedure.

Call me or PM me if you want em.

Thank you so much! The look great and already have great polyp extension. Sorry about the beetle and I'm on my way now to get it out of there. I hate old cars sometimes.
