Free to good home: 6" blue tang

Let me know if someone is actually brave enough to actually want to put a 6" blue tang in their tank.

I'm in the process of catching the tang out of my reef tank and when I do it will be up for grabs to the first person who wants it or a LFS.

I'm in Tracy.

Hey Scott. I have clients that have a 350 and 400 gallon tank that either would make a great home for your blue tang. All we need to do is figure out how to get him to Sac.

Hi,

I will take it off your hands and pick it up from Tracy on Thursday.

Let me know,

Sanjeev

Plankton,
I would use a small hook, baited with shrimp or squid. It is the easiest way to catch a fish. Try using a barbless hook or if you can't find a tiny barbless hook, you can simply cut off the barb. If the hook is too large, then try a fly fishing lure. I caught all my fish within minutes. It's real easy to do and doesn't harm the fish too much. The lip heals in no time. Hth.

Good news, bad news.

With Jesus's help I was able to capture the tang with Jesus's slick extra-large fish trap. Bad news is that the blue tang has ick so I'm going to try to treat it in a 20G tub. So, tang won't be available for 2-4weeks - until it gets treated; prolly try copper treatment.

Hmm, read that copper might screw up a tang's digestive track.

I'm at a specific gravity of 1.015 now, but to do a true hypo I could/should drop to 1.009 for 2-3 weeks...

Matt - were you ever successfull with a 1.009 hypo?

Scott
