Free Zoanthid eating emerald crab

Maybe I dont have enough food in my tank for him? all was well for 3 months, he ate bubble algae, grazed on bryopsis, its all gone now. Pick up near midway airport.

i didnt know these guys ate zoa . makes me wonder about the one always on my zoa's

From the pic and description he wasnt eating the zoas but rather picking the mats off to get at any hidden pods or algae at the base which in turn was causing them harm. Basically he is destructive because he's hungry now.
I'd take him but I'm too far for a $10 crab

no he was eating them, my colony was deteriorating and I could not figure out why, every day it was getting smaller and smaller. he even grabbed a frag off the sand bed and pulled it in a little cave and ate half of it. I tried throwing in pellets for him because I did predict the obvious would happen, but the shrimp and hermits would make quick work of them. Taking him to the LFS tomorrow.

I routinely give mine a piece of seaweed/algae to nibble on. Keeps him happy.
