Fresh water dips for cleaning crew

Do any of you do freshwater dips for crabs, snails, etc. before putting them in your tank? Would you suggest any other measures besides quarantine to reduce the possibility of introducing parasites? With fish, it's probably pretty easy to see through observation whether or not their sick, but I'm really not sure how you'd know with hermit crabs or snails or whether or not they're even a high risk for introducing parasites.

I do not "fresh water" dip my inverts & I have plenty.
That would really stress them out.
I haven't really heard of any major problems.
I sometimes scrub the shell gently with a toothbrush, as I would do with a clam.

You can visably see pyramid snails if they are attached.

FW dipping inverts sounds like a recipe for dead inverts. I've always heard they are more sensitive to water quality changes than fish, especially shrimp.

OK, I was just kind of curious since I go through some sort of preventative measures for just about everything except my cleaning crew. I like the shell scrubbing idea. That certainly wouldn't hurt.
