Freshwater dip

I know parasites in the tank need to be treated, but do any parasites survive that are on the fish when doing a 5-7 min dip for a fish?

Depends on the parasite. You can literally see flukes fall off during a freshwater dip, while ich is under the fish's skin for example.

What are you trying to treat?

5-7 minutes in a FW bath will be stressful on a fish, 2-3 mins is more than enough time for flukes to dislodge and fall off. If you are trying to treat anything else with a FW dip, you're wasting your time because it won't provide any benefit

I'm not trying to treat anything at the moment. I'm just asking because I would prefer to do a 5 min dip instead of a long medicated qt when adding fish. But if it doesn't kill everything, I guess it's pointless other than diagnosing flukes. Just being curious.
