freshwater dip

I plan on getting a pair of clown fish and I've been studying up a lot on them on this forum. One question I have right now is, how do you know when a fresh water dip is successful at killing ich? Does it fall off? Any comments/answers are appreciated!

Thanks

The ich on the body should fall off once it is killed by the osmotic shock of a freshwater dip.

The problem is that if the fish have been in your tank the ich will ikely come back. It's best to use the fw dip on their way from QT to your fisplay tank.

There are a number of ways to treat ick. I'm sure you studdied up on them all. I personally try to remove any stress factors and let it run it's course. It does have roughly a 30 day life cycle, but I've found that allowing the fish's immune system to take care of it seems to work in most cases.

Of course the best method is to avoid specamins that look stressed or sick. Then Quarrantine them for at least 30 days before adding them to your main system. If they do get sick, wait 30 days after symptoms disappear to transfer them.
