Freshwater plankton?

I live right next to a small creek that has some small fish, turtles, beavers, ext, that live in it. If I were to take my 200 or 300 micron seive and strain it through the water would I catch any types of plankton? I know kind of a weird question but it's for a biology project. Thanks guys!

Hi, If you want some plankton, try a pond, they always seem to have more than a flowing stream. Skim right along the top 6 inches.
