Friday's Meeting?

I believe the meeting will be a member-run discussion on aquarium technology and tank set up. While the focus may be on getting newer members up to speed on how to set up skimmers, kalk reactors, plumbing, etc, I'm sure there will be something for everyone.

I'll give Chuck a call tonight and see if I can get more details. Unfortunately a computer crash and an insanely busy life right now have left me unable to keep up with the club and boards since the swap. I still have photos of the swap I need to get online, and will try to do so soon!

Ok,

Hear ye, Hear ye!!!

We are going to be covering responsible reefkeeping at the meeting on Friday night. I will be speaking on reef tank controllers and what they can do for you. I will be giving a demonstration of the full capabilities of a Aqua Controller 3. I spoke with our president, Mr. Stodelmyer this afternoon and he stated other board members are going to speak in 15-20 intervals on other topics. He mentioned discussing his tank and what he can share. He mentioned another board member discussing SPS.

Another topic that we are going to cover is the May elections. Year after year our May elections meeting consists of 12 -15 people. That is hardly enough people to count as a majority vote, considering we have 53 active members currently. The board would like to see more people take an active roll in the club and it's behind the scenes activities. I feel it will be a good time for each board member to stand up and go over what they have provided, endured and gained from all the past year. I hope that this will encourage others with fresh ideas and dreams to step forward and help make C-SEA a better club for all members. All members are eligible to volunteer to nominate themselves to be elected to the board. However, there is great responsibility to holding one of these positions. I would like to voice that feeling now. If you would like to be inserted into the elections. Please feel free to let us know. If you have any questions as far as the positions go. This Friday will be the time to ask. I have to remind everyone of a good saying. The only stupid question, is the question that was not asked.

Now, onto the good news. The club is going to be raffling off a TUNZE 6045 pump in the "Members only raffle". That means that all current members that attend will be eligible to win. I know I am going to be there in hopes of winning this little treat for the fish tank.

We will also be raffling off another 6045 pump in May for members only. So, with that said. Let's get all those old expired memberships updated this Friday. I will have forms for everyone to sign up. All you need is a Check or Cash for 20.00 dollars for the membership fee.

Thanks to everyone that has supported the club thus far. I hope to see each and everyone of you this Friday.

Is there someplace we can check to see if our membership has expired or not? I don't remember how long ago I joined.

PM sent to you requesting more information.

alright, tonight is my first time going to this meeting... do i have to pay to get into the meeting? or do i have to pay to get into the zoo? or do i get in for free if i tell them i am here for a c-sea meeting?

what is the best way to get there? just park by the main entrance and take the trolly up to the aquatics building?

Boy the presenter saying how good the program was, can you say pot calling the kettle black He He. Good job mike. Chuck talking about his species tank was interesting. I was really looking forward to the SPS talk hoping to find out why I have so much trouble keeping SPS, then I could buy some of "Bonds" coral frags. Oh well maybe next month

Yes Mike Canterbury has thrown his hat into the presidential race, Chris Costanza has offered to help with the website and I believe Tom Bohic has chosen to run for program chairman.

If there was more discussed I wasn't paying enough attention. LOL
I didn't know there would be a quiz.

where did all of the raffle items come from? they were all really awesome pieces.

what other positions are there and what are their job titles?

I was only saying it was good because no one got booed or pulled out of the room with a cane. :D

John,

If you would like for me to take a look at your setup and offer suggestions I would be more than happy to.

Salty Critter sells the items to the club at very good prices. The raffle was pretty much like any of the monthly raffles we have. Besides seeing Mike's great talk, the raffle is what keeps me coming back

Each meeting there is a raffle.

agoutihead it was good to meet you and welcome to the club!

Live goods and the Tunze nanostream were from Salty Critter.

I have posted the descriptions of the board positions in this thread. May Elections thread I figure it will be easier to keep elections discussions for the next month there. Let me know if anyone has any questions.
