Fried Transformer and stream?

I just bought two new 7410.602 transformers to upgrade my 6000's to the 6100's. I hooked them up and they ran for about a minute and a half before one of my streams stopped. By the time I had opened my stand door the other stream had stopped as well and the lights on the multi controller were dim.

I switched off the surge protector that they were connected to and I noticed that one of the new transformers had puffed out. I unplugged it and it was so hot that I had to use a hot pad to get it out from under my stand. I plugged the 6000 transformers back into the streams, but now the stream that the transformer melted on won't spin and I get an alarm, the first time that I have even heard the alarm.

I had just cleaned the streams a week ago, but I took that stream apart again and cleaned it. It still will not spin. Is this stream fried? Should I try the other 7410.602 transformer that didn't melt or am I doing something wrong? The steams are my main circulation so I am kind of stuck.

Here is a photo of the transformers.

The swollen transformer probably still works they shut off at about 200 degrees so the metal can't melt but the plastic gets deformed. I suspect something was wrong with the pump that caused it to overdraw the transformer. Send me that complete pump. It has to get to me by Thursday in order for me to recieve it and repair it before I leave for Germany.

Do you have any idea what was wrong with the pump? With one pump down it would be nice to put the larger transformer on the remaining pump, but frankly I am a little scared to do so. Do you want the transformer too. PM me address so that I can send this out as soon as possible.

I would send the whole thing, you will need a new transformer and likely either the motor is jammed or defective. Really nothing to be afraid of. They don't get hot enough to start a fire but trying to use it is only going to fry more parts.

Blgreef, I actually double checked the transformer before I even plugged them in, 115v.

I wasn't really worried about a fire, more just of losing my other stream. I have since put the larger transformer back on my other stream and it seems to be working fine. The larger transformers seem to be warmer to the touch than the smaller ones. Maybe it just because with one pump I don't have it pulsing anymore but going full bore instead. I was able to ship out today, should be there by Thursday.
