friend or fow

Iwas wondering if anyone could help me with id for this

[/IMG] or any info at all to help me determine weather it is friend or fow it is in a tank were i keep new corals before i add them to my system

[/IMG] i just want to make sure it is not something that will harm my corals they dont seem to be ,but any help would be appreciated thank you:confused: :confused:
 
Unfortunately, it's a foe. It's either an arminid nudibranch or one from a related family, and most or all are coral feeders. Greenbean or Leslie may be able to give you more specific info.

I have been able to find about a dozen very small sea slugs similar to yours in the past two months. I believe they may be Dermatobranchus spp., which feed on soft corals. I tried to feed them a number of different kinds of soft corals, and was able to keep them alive in a floating cup for some time, but never actually witnessed any of the slugs feeding. Apparently, these animals are a taxinomic mess.

Thanks for the info on the critters guys mutch appreciated now i just need to get rid of them by hand or predator or any other known method
