Fritz Zime

I put the Fritz Zime in on Monday and I'm stll getting this ammonia reading from my 25lbs of Marcos Rocks..Not sure whats going on?? The expiration label on the bottle that I bought from CC was ripped in half so I could not tell the date . I hope it was good but I bought it right after you did so it should be from the same batch..

. I used the whole bottle in about 18 gal which should have done something???

you ever put a heater in the water? I also did that the same day. That's weird We had the same problem, my rock is in the tank now. Was there anything big maybe that died off the rock?

Yea...I put a heater in the water last week and did a 10 water change before I put the Fritz Zime in last Monday.. This rock has now been in the tub for over 3 wks with no reduction in the ammonia whatsoever ??On the bottle it says to check expiration date which was impossible cause it is ripped off..Should of checked when I bought it I guess..

I know you said that you were using Natural Seawater from the inlet, could that be a problem? Again I am a n00b I am just thinking out loud.

Naw...Shouldn't matter in the least IMO . I was using it since last summer for water changes in my tank till it got too cold to go get it. But my tank never did as well . My corals all look really great using NSW...Strange things is I had Zoo's closed up tight for months and could not figure out what was wrong with them. First time I did 2 x 5 gal water changes using NSW and the Zoo's opened immediately and have been doing good ever since. I'm not even sure what that means but i don't think the water has anything to do with this ammonia. I'll just give it some more time and see what happens. I am just getting impatient is all...I have a brand new 58 gal RR Oceanic that I want to set up and this is holding everthing at a standstill..Grrr
BTW.... reading a little further I see it say's it can take up to 2 weeks even using the Fritz Zime #9

Hey Bob,
Nice chatting with you and bouncing ideas around
Glad to hear it worked out for you!

Vyger,
Somthing really sounds "off" there are you sure your test kit/strips are ok?

As you can see in one of the previous posts above I was using an
Aquarium Pharmaceutical Test Kit. I checked it on my own tank and it read 0 Ammonia so I'm assuming the test kit is valid.
