Frog spawn?

I just bought a frog spawn today. I am fairly new to the hobby and am wondering if it needs to be placed in the sand or not? It was in the sand at the store but I never thought to ask if it has to be. Will it move around like my anemone or does it just stay where ever you put it? I have it kind of wedged into a gap in the live rock right now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The LFS puts it on the sand because it's convenient and easily viewed that way.

It can go anywhere in your tank with medium flow and light. I don't like wedging LPS corals into the rockwork. I've had too many take a tumble. However that is an option.

mine is in the rocks...Just a word to the wise though, when you are cleaning your tank or have your arm in the tank dont brush up against it to much(especially with the more sensitive areas on your arm) it gives you a nice bumpy rash that itches quite badly. Or it could just be that I am allegic to it something idk.

Always use non powdered latex gloves whene your hand is in the tank.

I have my frog spawn in the sand so it is easy to move around and I didn't want it too close to the light as I acclimated. It looked so good there and then started to grown so fast that I just left it. I myself have no reaction to touching frog spawn or hammer corals.

Mine is high in my rockwork where its quite happy.
